The place is right by the west station and the cable car to Tianmen Mountain, so getting around is a breeze. The quadruple room was roomy enough, though the bathroom door was see‑through and never really shut. They even offered a free washing machine, and the owner was friendly and helpful, but I’d skip his restaurant recommendation.

It’s a 15‑minute taxi ride from the station and the city centre, and the cable car to Tianmen Mountain is just a hop away. The owner was friendly and could speak English, but the room fell short of what I’d booked – no LED lights, sheets stained with pen marks and a yellowish residue, a shower without a glass door that’s stuck to the toilet, and the whole bathroom would flood. The AC blew straight at the bed and couldn’t be angled, so I either froze or sweated at night.

The staff were always on hand and gave great tips, even set up our sightseeing schedule for us. But there was no lift, the shower head was broken, and the air‑conditioner was weak and blew right onto the foot of the bed.

This place is a gem – the staff are among the best I’ve met, always ready to book activities and chat. I can’t recommend it enough; if you’re heading to Zhangjiajie, stay here.

The room smelled like cigarettes, the AC stuck at 26°C and couldn’t be adjusted, and the shower and toilet were oddly combined – water from the shower would run into the toilet hole. Despite that, the staff were the friendliest I’ve met, helped map out my itinerary, gave me a discount, and were always ready to assist. The location is perfect, close to the cable car and plenty of shops, and I’d definitely return.
