“Good place for the price but bring your bar soap and shampoo”
Very clean and friendly staff. Shower soap and shampoo need to be replaced with a better quality.

Very retro and fun! Very friendly staff. Our room was accessed from the back of the building, and it was a long walk from the parking lot.

It was an experience. It's made out of a single but very large redwood tree. I had a room on the 2nd floor with a view. It was comfortable. It also was quiet for where it was located. It had a large screen TV. Keep in mind this motel is fairly old. That Redwood tree that was milled for the motel was felled sometime in 1952. The motel was built in 1957. It was once a very nice motel but age has had a big effect on the site. Everything around you is old, the office, the rooms, the interiors.etc. The door to my room wouldn't shut without a little effort. The stairway to the upstairs was rather steep, so use caution. Most of the furnishings are old, maybe around 50 yrs. old. I thought the fridge in the room was unique. It was a retro unit that looked like the refrigerator's from the early 60's If you just want a room to rest, then this will fill your need

The rooms were huge and everything in them worked fine, but being next to the main street meant a bit of noise, especially in the room at the far end nearest the street like mine, though it wasn’t too bad.

This motel felt like a slice of history, the staff were very caring, and the owner is restoring and upgrading the facilities; it’s clean, cute, and offers great value as a base camp for exploring the redwoods—I’ll return next year. The only downside was the lack of extra pillows.
