Brook Road Inn

I had already written a Google review explaining all this, but our room had been taken and the occupants had left the key on the hook, so we went to the room to find it inhabited. They also had two other sets of keys there, which was odd. We had to wait two hours before anything was done. By then we had picked our own room, but it was cramped because it was three of us in one bed.

The staff responded to the situation we had upon arrival. The Inn had been booked for a wedding and it would have made any stay uncomfortable with no shared space as it was going to be a rainy weekend. They offered us to upgrade to a cabin so we could enjoy our weekend getaway.

“Quiet stay”

The location was good for what we needed. It’s very modest, almost feels like a dorm room. It was fine for a quiet night away, but not really what we were expecting.

Given the key‑pad check‑in, self‑collection of keys, and general lack of human interaction—literally not a soul—it felt a little lifeless for an inn. Beautiful interior, though! Comfortable bed. Tiny yet very functional bathroom. Nice, open lot for parking—a perk of having nobody there. But felt lonely. I’m sure that changes in the winter ski season, given how close it is to Sunapee.

“Quiet and laid-back place to stay and unwind from the crazy thing we call life.”

It was very quiet there and no TV, which was a change and turned out to be very nice. Close to a lot of things we like to do, like- hiking, kayaking, blueberry picking, and eating out. Only thing I could remotely comment on was the hiking around the place. I believe it stated there here hiking trials. We found one and started down it, only to run into a surveillance camera (Trail Cam) on the path. We assumed we shouldn't go any further. Still, plenty of hiking trails nearby
