We were on a layover for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the rooms—beautifully furnished, even with dishware on the rooms which helped us enjoy leftover food on the balcony the next afternoon. We’d come back anytime. We’re frequent visitors to Matala, so we know the evenings can get louder, especially since the apartments are a bit farther from the center, but it didn’t bother us. The rooms are generally very sound‑permeable; we heard every conversation and cough from our neighbors, but that didn’t bother us either—just something to keep in mind if you’re more sensitive to noise.
