“Avoid this place”

The Wi‑Fi and Netflix TV were good, but check‑in was more complicated than expected. The beds were uncomfortable, the place was really loud and disorganized. We ran out of toilet paper and no one replaced it. Hygiene was poor and the room looked like a military camp you actually pay for—total disaster.

The accommodation is price‑friendly on the outskirts of Hannover, and there’s a shared kitchen. In northern Germany it’s worth visiting UNESCO‑listed historic towns such as Goslar and Quedlinburg, which are tied to the early history of the Holy Roman Empire and its emperors; picturesque medieval streets line some of the country’s oldest stone‑walled houses, many dating back to the Renaissance. Wolfenbüttel is another charming town with stone‑walled houses, and Hildesheim lies toward Goslar, featuring a square surrounded by old stone‑walled buildings.

“Günstig, gut gelegen aber eben eine Handwerker Unterkunft.”

The location was very good and the room was clean and tidy; the hallway and staircase were also very clean, and the toilets were spotless. I didn’t use the kitchen because I was only staying overnight. However, when I arrived, many workers were outside the hostel smoking, which made it clear this was a workers’ accommodation. As a solo female traveler, it felt uneasy to enter the building under those circumstances; no one behaved badly or said anything, but the feeling was unsettling.

The pillows were very uncomfortable; they definitely need to be replaced.
