Returning years later to experience Kariotahi from the clifftop at Castaways felt truly special. As the sun set, the sounds of nature and the waves’ rhythm took me back to carefree childhood days, giving a nostalgic, beautiful perspective on a familiar place. Thank you, Castaways, for letting me revisit a treasured part of my childhood in such a gorgeous way. ❤️ We couldn’t stay longer to walk the black sands again; the new Wharekai at Tahuna opened up a route from Kaipara, but we had to head back after one night. ☹️

Location and comfortable beds Room service food was amazing and so fast !. It’s looking abit old and tired inside , cobwebs on ranchsliders and dishwasher wasn’t working and the sign on it looked like it had been there a long time!
