The location and parking were fine, but we had to swap rooms and haul our suitcases up to the second floor. The welcome was unfriendly, the mattresses were very hard, and the beds came with thick winter spring blankets even though the temperature stayed around 30 °C for weeks. Wi‑Fi was only available in the room at reception. We planned to stay four days but departed after three.

The food was good, and the rooms were clean and spacious. During this summer of the century, an air conditioner would have been welcome, though normally such a thing isn’t necessary in the Black Forest.
