The room was super large, the place was clean, and the location was great, yet the bedding had an odor as if it had been stored for a long time.

The location was fine, but the noise and the covers were dirty.

I liked that the hotel was close to the beach and felt it offered decent value, but the whole place was under maintenance and looked abandoned, which made it creepy and not comfortable for a solo traveler. There was no vibe, the pool was dirty, the bathroom and room were dated, and I think the property has potential if it were made cozier and more welcoming—maybe a bar with music would help.

The beds were super comfortable and the location was just across the street from a lovely beach with showers, and a 20‑30 minute walk took you to Manuel Antonio National Park, so overall it was good value. However, the rooms were dated and shabby; a tea kettle and coffee maker would have been great, the closet didn’t lock properly, and you had to keep the bathroom door partially closed to keep the A/C from leaking through a big hole. Construction during the day for the first few days of our stay was very disruptive and ruined our pool experience.
