“A place to relax”
We spent two nights at Trout Lodge and would have gladly stayed longer because it’s one of those rare spots that keeps pulling you back. It’s not just a physical retreat but a place where your spirit truly finds peace. In this season, the trees are covered in golden‑yellow blossoms that perfume the air, creating an almost magical vibe. We loved the hike and the stunning views from the lodge. The accommodation stayed immaculate, cozy, and fully equipped for a relaxing stay. The owner kindly supplied plenty of firewood to keep us warm on chilly winter evenings. Some of our favorite family moments involved sitting by the fireplace, chatting, laughing, and playing board games. The kids were thrilled to find a chocolate cake waiting for them—a pleasant surprise that made them feel special. Another thoughtful touch was a beautiful bouquet of freshly picked local flowers on the table, which we always notice first upon arrival. No matter the season, a fresh arrangement greets guests, a simple gesture that signals you’re not just another booking but a valued guest. That warmth and care make this place unforgettable. I highly recommend Trout Lodge to anyone who wants to escape city noise, recharge, and enjoy breathtaking scenery, peaceful surroundings, birdsong, the gentle wind through trees, and wonderfully quiet mornings with coffee while taking in the view. It’s more than a place to stay; it’s a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, spend quality time with loved ones, and create lasting memories.
“Home away from home!”
Quiet and relaxing, with Robin and Neil being friendly and helpful. Thanks for the chocolate cake and vases of flowers! Kids and we enjoyed the waterfall trip—thanks a lot!
“Food for the soul , wonderful for nature lovers”
Beautiful and peaceful
“amazing away from the crowds quiet do your own thing”
It’s a lovely place to stay, greeted with a chocolate cake, very quiet except for farm animals and activity, no TV, and very little cell reception unless you know where to look.
“Great weekend away”
A weekend of rest and relaxation with friends at a great spot. Neil and Robyn are passionate and happy to share their farm stories, offer great walks, and serve delicious chocolate cake. Hope you visit again.
