After checking in we went to our room and immediately smelled strong mold; I saw mold on the ceiling and the top of the bathroom door. I went back to the front desk to report it and to say I wasn’t staying, but the man didn’t even flinch when I told him which shows he already knew and didn’t care. I asked for a refund because I wasn’t staying and still haven’t received my money back a month later! I’ve been calling and no one will answer the phone!
The spot’s location is great if you’re heading to The Woodlands, but it wasn’t very clean and the amenities were in bad shape. They advertised breakfast included, yet it was just muffins and watery coffee.
“I was highly disappointed”
I was really let down by the breakfast—only toast, blueberry muffins, coffee, and juice were offered, no fruit, cereal, or granola bars, and you had to rummage through cabinets to get anything. The room itself smelled old and musty, almost like mold and mildew, and when I checked out I saw a cockroach walking down the wall.
“Cheapish but questionable please read or go in with an open mind.”
The hotel is fairly cheap compared to most nearby hotels, and it’s only about a 30‑minute walk to the Cynthia, though that can be a lot in the heat. The room was very spacious and there’s good food about a 15‑minute walk away. The staff were disinterested and borderline impolite, the elevator didn’t work, and the room was clean but had some dirty spots such as a dirty toilet and showerhead. The ceiling was rotting in places and even had mold; the shower air vent looks like it’s about to fall out of the ceiling and everything around it is peeling. The edges of all the mirrors were rusted, none of the doors shut properly so you have to slam the entrance door to make it close, and that doesn’t work the first time every time. We found a piercing on the floor and all the bedsheets looked like they had been drawn on by children.
The place is clean and conveniently located for Uber rides to the airport, though the front desk came across as a bit preachy.
