“Temple visit Kumbakonam”
The property was beautiful with gigantic rooms and a phenomenal breakfast; the location was superb. The rooms were not cleaned during our two‑day stay despite a specific request to do so, which was quite irritating. The man still appeared when we were leaving for a tip. The dining room was boiling hot in the afternoon, giving us a sizable headache because we were sitting there sweltering. I can’t understand why a section couldn’t be air‑conditioned; it was so bad that we ate lunch elsewhere the next day. Also, for the gigantic room, there were huge windows near the ceiling with very inadequate curtains, so the whole afternoon we rested with towels over our eyes to block the glare. It’s really silly that a hotel with so much decorative investment didn’t consider the practical need for thick curtains for guest comfort.
