We found a peaceful, cozy retreat away from La Paz’s hustle, yet only a 6‑8 USD taxi ride to the city center and the bus station to Uyuni. What mattered most was the warm, kind hospitality of the hosts, Maria and Gualberto—no request felt too big. Every morning the breakfast was superb in the patio that their architect son, Christian, had designed. They took us to the local market in Achumeni, where we shopped for fresh local food, then returned to the hotel where Maria taught us a virtual cooking class on Bolivian trout with local vegetables. Gualberto arranged a $7.00 taxi to the bus station for our Uyuni tour, and after we came back he took us to watch the Superbowl in nearby San Miguel, a stylish neighborhood with trendy cafés, bars, and restaurants where we watched the game at the British Pub. By the time he drove us to the airport for $15.00 we felt like family, not just guests. The only downside was that their English isn’t perfect, but their adult son Christian speaks good English and was always ready to bridge any gaps.

This place is really lovely, and the hosts are super friendly. Highly recommend, it's a great spot to stay.

The owners are really nice and the place is clean and cozy, but it's pretty far from restaurants, shops, and the airport. Also, the room didn't have its own bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient.
