The location and price were fine, though I didn’t book breakfast so I can’t comment on that. The check‑in and check‑out were automated; the lack of human interaction may cut costs but it doesn’t match our expectations.

The staff were very polite and attentive. The breakfast selection could have been a bit more extensive, but it was still acceptable.

The rooms were new and modern, the bathroom was contemporary and everything was clean. At our request we were able to check in two hours early. Unfortunately the breakfast offered reheated rolls that were cold and hard, and the cold cuts, though on a cooler, were warm. For the price I’ve had far better meals at other hotels. My room faced the main street and was quite noisy with the windows open.

The check‑in kiosk and the large parking lot were convenient, the mattress was very comfortable, and at night the location was super quiet with the back rooms offering a nice view into the greenery. During the day you could eat right in the building, and the Herforder Wirtschaft (former Felsenkeller) sat diagonally across. I did miss a mini‑fridge for water or similar, so it would have helped if the vending machine on the ground floor had bottled water too (though there was a wide selection of other drinks). I would have appreciated a few more hangers, but otherwise that was it.
