“We Thoroughly Enjoyed Our Stay - Highly Recommended”
We wanted a place to rest and enjoy the countryside, and Travilgiani Agritourismo was perfect for us. Everything about this Traviglianti property is of excellent and high quality. The owners (cousins Enrico & Claudio) are extremely attentive and conscientious about taking care of their guests. We had a private room that is very well equipped and comfortable for two people. The bed is firm and flat - perfect for my wife, and fine for me (I generally like a bit more padding). The room size is quite adequate but not large. However, the bathroom area is excellent, with separate doors for the toilet and shower area separating it from the washroom area; and the bathroom has a fan, which most hotels these days omit. The shower is large & the water is hot. There are adequate places to hang towels and clothes. We really appreciated these aspects. In addition, guests share access to a full-size and well-stocked kitchen (including food) with abundant room for multiple guests. (We were there during a time that was not-crowded, so we cannot confidently say how it would feel with many more guests.). The property is huge (it is a winery), and allows for pleasant walks and exploration, and discovery of the old wine press building, which is fascinating. The owners offer a tour and tasting, which unfortunately we were not able to participate in due to illness. Other guests expressed their enjoyment of the tour and tasting. The property is conveniently located for accessing vistas and trails higher up in the slopes of Mt Etna. THINGS TO NOTE: THESE ARE NOT NEGATIVES - JUST BE AWARE: The roads getting to the vineyard are poorly maintained (this is not the owners fault), so be aware. The location is remote, but not far very far from nearby towns, so be aware (in fact - this was a positive feature for us!). There is another Travilgianti-named hotel about 30 km to the east, and our GPS sent us there by mistake - which is our fault - LOL, so be aware to use the correct name and/or address as you drive. Do not flush paper down the toilet, just be aware. The sink water comes from a clean source, but the owners recommend bottled water (which they provide) for drinking. The rooms are a bit tight (for long-term travelers like us with a lot of luggage) and could benefit from some extra shelf space
