Parking was a breeze, the bed was comfy, and the room was spacious enough to move around. The pub that runs the place was good; you could grab a drink and meals that were tasty and generous.

The location was great for what we needed and the staff were friendly. We stayed in room 2, which wasn’t as good as previous visits; a family a few rooms down had three kids who ran up and down the hallway screaming from early morning until late evening, while their parents were in the pub they played in the reception area, kicking the front door and the entry device, then when they opened it they kept slamming the front door and the inside door constantly. On our last two visits the reception area was manned and this never happened, so we actually left a day early after two disturbed nights. I’m not blaming the staff – they were brilliant – but I think parents should be told to keep their children under control and a manned reception desk would have stopped this.

The double bedroom was large, the bathroom was nice, the TV was big and the chair was comfy – the bed was comfy too. Spotlessly clean. The pub staff were great with food service and very friendly. All good.

The location was ideal. The rooms were full of old furniture and dirty divan bases covered in stains, with a strong musty damp smell. I booked for two nights but left a day early because it was too hot and dusty to sleep another night. If the rooms were revamped, it could be a great place to stay.
