We stayed near a lovely sandy beach, just a 5‑minute walk, where you can rent sunbeds or enjoy the open shore; the water was teeming with fish around the rocks, which the kids loved. Free parking was easy on weekdays, but on weekends it was crowded and you had to pay. The host was very helpful and responsive; we chatted on WhatsApp because neither of us spoke Italian or English, but Google Translate worked fine. We were eight and rented the whole place: one room was underground, another was ground level sharing a kitchen with an upstairs room. As a family it was plenty of space, though the kitchen might feel cramped if the last two rooms were rented separately. Sheets were changed every 7 days and towels every 4 days, which was acceptable. I’d rate it 8.5, though family votes ranged between 8 and 9. The only downside was garbage collection: it never emptied during our 11‑day stay, filling with ants that sometimes landed on the patio table and even entered the kitchen. The stairs to the upper room were narrow, steep, and dark; the lights were out when we arrived, making it harder to see. The kitchen could feel small if rooms were rented separately, but that was fine for us.

Pietro, our host, was fantastic and gave us great tips for visiting Isola; he ensured we had all the comforts we needed. The 10+ Apartment is only 200 m from the beach, a very good spot. The garden is lush and shaded, and there’s an outside shower that’s perfect after a beach day. Air‑conditioning was good. A larger supermarket is a 6‑minute drive away. The 4‑bed apartment is in the basement, but we spent most of our time in the garden. To explore Palermo you’ll need a car; parking costs 10 € per day at Easypark or on the street. You can rent a car from Isola, but they’re not at the airport and will add 50 € for transport to and from the airport. Toni was helpful, but the office staff were a bit nervous. The beach is nice, but you must pay 30 € daily for two sunbeds; for a family of four that’s 60 € per day. There are free spots if you bring your own gear from nearby.

The accommodation met our expectations; we booked all three rooms and had plenty of space for the whole family. The room furnishings and shared kitchen were great, though the stairs might be too steep and long for some, and the basement room was quite dark. The air‑conditioning worked well. The basement room suffered from dampness due to weather.
