The spot is great, right next to the main road, and the rooms were a solid value with friendly staff.

Everything was flawless, but the security deposit felt a bit odd.

The beds were comfy and the rooms had plenty of space, though we had to wait a while for someone at the front desk before we could check in.

The view and location were nice, but after a Speedway Testimonial at 9.15pm a 45‑plus‑year‑old woman and a 15‑year‑old drinking lime soda were told she couldn’t stay in the bar or dining area from 9pm, ruining the end of our night; we ended up standing in the hallway to finish drinks, the toasters were new but only offered a single hot breakfast option, and the cold selections were sparse.

Location was excellent for our needs - but will pick alternative next time due to the pub side! Bed was Comfy Bathroom clean Hotel check in staff nice friendly. Went to the bar when we got back to order a meal as we had checked online prior to booking as new we'd be late and this was the info provided - "Serving times: Available daily until 10:00 PM." Was abruptly told by a female bar staff that KITCHEN SHUTS at 9pm. The rudeness didn't end there, every time we ordered a drink it seemed like it was all too much trouble. Breakfast - Cooked food was tasty, but the two toasters were clearly not fit for purpose, endless queuing for toast, gave up and had warm bread they were so bad, as breakfast was going cold. Coffee in the jugs was awful, just instant mixed in large quantities. Tables all felt grubby and stick, need a good old scrub daily I think! And the icing on the cake, the lady walking around with a lanyard on, tall dark hair grey cardigan, WOW rudeness with knobs on! (Sunday 4th October) I don't know who's managing the staff in the pub but God they clearly don't have happy or customer service trained staff there! Get rid and start again with people who actually want to work and be polite to customers!
