Super 8 by Wyndham Gurnee

It was close to our destination. Key cards kept malfunctioning; every time we left the room and tried to re‑enter, we had to have them reissued. After the first two attempts, we couldn’t even enter the first room assigned because the door never opened. The second room had a non‑working toilet that wouldn’t flush; maintenance came, plunger was used, and they left it as is. The public women's bathroom by the lobby was out of order the whole time, so I couldn’t use that either. Very dissatisfied with this hotel.

“You get what you pay for last minute, so book well ahead to avoid this place!”

Not much to say. The air conditioning failed, and the ceiling fans didn’t work either. The hair dryer was broken, and the phone to call the front desk was out of order. There was no breakfast in the lobby, and the coffee was gone. The indoor pool had no water, and the main building bathroom didn’t work while the second toilet wouldn’t flush.

The front desk was attentive, the room was clean, and there was plenty to watch on TV. It was the best Super 8 I’ve ever stayed at.

I liked the location, but the place felt old and run down, there were no coffee pots in the room, the pool was closed, and the carpets were dirty.
