“Glad to leave”
The hotel is on the seafront. It’s tired, old, and feels like another failing Duchess of the UK seaside hotel that hasn’t been invested in.

A solid pick with a great sea‑view location. The lift was very old.

The atmosphere is lovely and historic, giving a relaxed vibe overall. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The proximity to the sea offers excellent walking opportunities. My room’s view faced the courtyard and parking spaces, so it didn’t have the sea view—one can’t have everything.

I can only list three positives: the hotel fronts the sea and is within walking distance of the center, there’s a parking lot, and there’s one lift (from which year, I don’t know). This place was probably top class a long time ago, but that’s all that remains; it’s a typical relic of former glory. The walls and ceilings are fading, the meal service is clumsy, and the price is ridiculously high for what’s offered. In the coming months the hotel will undergo major work, which will need to improve a lot, otherwise it won’t survive here at these rates.
