Le Nessa Akazawa

The hotel is tucked away in a forested, scenic area, so you need to be a nature person since there are many insects—some even indoors. The staff were super sweet and helpful, and we also rented the tennis court. Breakfast was good. We had chosen a Japanese‑style cabin, but the facilities were very worn and not well maintained. We had higher expectations based on the pictures.

“赤沢のコテージ”

I stayed in a spacious room with a generous layout that was kept tidy. I checked out late, but the staff handled it well and the price felt reasonable. The property is noticeably old, and the main bath needs better cleaning and upkeep; the grout is moldy and the open-air bath looked like a ruin, which felt a bit unsettling even in the morning, and I probably wouldn't have gone in at night. The front desk was bland and cold when I checked in. The shower pressure in my room was too weak, making it slow to rinse. It would be nice to have a few more dishes available. Because the grounds are large, getting to the bath or dining area from a far‑off room can be a hassle. At night a fireworks group was firing, and the smoke blew straight toward our building, which was quite unpleasant.

The hot spring was fantastic. The old tables and sofas were a bit off-putting.

The breakfast was tasty and the onsen was pleasant, and both the front desk staff and the shuttle driver were extremely helpful, yet the room wasn’t clean and the breakfast staff weren’t very courteous, which was disappointing.
