The hosts were very friendly and the location is superb, perched above olive trees with a view of the vineyards. Our toddler had plenty of space to run and explore, and there’s a volleyball court with balls up there too. The apartment is simple, without any frills, and a bit old, but overall it’s a great place that makes you feel truly in Tuscany; we could have stayed forever. Breakfast can be added for 4€ with croissant and coffee or 10€ for a continental set that includes cappuccino, yogurt, local sausage, cheese and croissants – it was delicious and authentically served. The small language barriers added to the charm, and we could easily try local wines.

The view just before you enter the grounds is phenomenal, with lush green vines everywhere. The owner is very friendly and gave us a bottle of wine made by his son just to taste and judge – very kind of him. The pool was a toxic green color; the owner said it was due to rainwater and that he had never experienced it before, but a previous Google review mentioned it had happened before and people shortened their stays because they chose the place for the pool. He let us see the pH and chlorine levels, but we didn’t dare dive in, worried about skin rash and other issues. It just looked dirty, brownish on the sides, algae, and the bottom was invisible. That was a big disappointment. There is very little on the premises, so we were really looking forward to a swim. Also, the cottage was absolutely not clean/unsanitary: dead mosquitoes stuck to the walls, the floor was so dirty that a wipe left a brown mark, the shower rail was filthy, the taps were limescaled, the kitchen cabinet had a very dirty, dusty bowl and no dust, a dirty tea towel with stains hung on the oven handle, and a very dirty, crumpled old mop lay in a small bucket. We had to go to the supermarket to buy cleaning supplies ourselves. Overall, you can survive there, it’s a nice spot, but the maintenance, hygiene and the pool were a let‑down.

The location is breathtaking, away from everything, absolute quiet, and the pool.

The outdoor area with a large pool is beautiful and perfect for relaxing, and it’s a great starting point to explore Tuscany. The interior design is very simple, almost too authentic for a holiday.
