Shamrock Guest House sits on Thames’ south bank, midway between London and Dover, offering budget rooms with TVs, tea/coffee, fridge, and microwave. Free Wi‑Fi, limited onsite parking, and a nearby public lot serve guests. Located less than a mile from Gravesend town centre, it is a 10‑minute walk to the rail station and Pier, and a 10‑minute drive to Ebbsfleet International for Eurostar to Paris.

Overall, the experience was disappointing, earning a 3.0/10.

I was given the option to pick between two rooms at reception, which was a nice touch, but the room itself felt a bit dated. It took me a whole hour to get to the hotel, and at first I wasn’t even sure it was open even though I had booked it, so that was frustrating.

The hotel’s location in the center of Gravesend is great, but there was no breakfast. The rooms look a bit old and shabby, which detracts from the stay.

The staff were very helpful, and the place was clean and fresh, which made the stay enjoyable.
