Location. Where do I start. First, there was no AC and only one single fan for a two‑bedroom cabin with a family room. There were no screens in the kitchen, so it was boiling. I asked for extra fans, but the staff said there were none. We had to resort to the cold showers right before bed. Early the next morning I saw staff carrying extra fans to my room. Next, the walls were paper‑lined. The staff stayed/lived above us. My teenage daughters woke up to them moaning, screaming, and having sex at 1 am for an hour. We banged on the ceiling several times to make them stop. We could hear literally everything. Definitely not family friendly! Then I sat in a kitchen chair and the seat flew off because it had no bolts. I’m only 136 cm, so it wasn’t too heavy. I fell and scraped my leg. I had called before the stay to ask if there was a coffee maker in the cabin so I could be prepared; the staff on the phone said yes. There wasn’t! I had to drive 2 miles and spend $20 on coffee because they lied. Half the clean towels had dark, curly hairs on them. Yuck. I’m blonde, so they weren’t ours. Thankfully we brought a few for the lake. Finally, there were holes in every wall, the floor was coming up everywhere, and a wood board was used to block the bathroom window for privacy. The grounds had lots of dog poop and a broken table. It’s so sad because this place has so much potential with just a few things added, repaired, and better management. I am totally willing to pay an extra $40 a night for a few upgrades and better staff.
