“Convenient, comfortable and clean.”
The location was great, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the breakfast was excellent. The face cloth was a nice touch, and the parking was secure.

The place was fantastic—spotlessly clean, great staff, a superb location, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

The location was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. It’s close to the town centre and the racecourse. We were an elderly group, so some of us had to watch our step on the stairs—there’s no lift. Getting a taxi on race day was difficult.

The continental breakfast was fine and the staff were good. Dinner was tasty but took a while because the hotel was very busy. The hotel also doubles as a noisy pub, which can be a drawback.

We’ve stayed at The Old Fourpenny Shop Hotel several times now and it’s consistently one of our favourite spots. The facilities are great, the staff are lovely, and the food is excellent.
