Nothing good. 1) Staff can’t speak English at all. 2) The check‑in requirement was ridiculous—asking for the passport renewal date when it’s already on the passport. 3) The lobby was dirty and smelled bad. 4) I managed to cancel my booking and didn’t stay here.

I was thrilled to stay with such wonderful people. The hotel’s location is excellent, and you can watch the fireworks from the balcony every day. The rooms are comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfasts; the owner does everything wonderfully. It turned out that the hotel is run by a family couple, who always greet you with a smile.

The place offers a great view of the cable car and the square, and the staff are friendly. However, the shower drain was clogged, there was no drying rack, and after three days we only had one cleaning; they only swapped towels and refilled water.

The hotel sits near the cable car, the room is spacious with a comfortable bed, and you can see the fireworks from the window. Everything is clean and available. On the first floor there’s a café, the prices are reasonable, the food is tasty, and the coffee is good. The owner is friendly and let us leave our luggage for two days while we headed to the North Island.
