Customer service was great. The place is a bit dated, but it’s perfect for Gatwick airport.
“Budge stay”
The spot was spot on – only 10 minutes to the airport car‑hire drop‑off. The room had a fridge, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. However, the bed was unclean, so we had to swap out the pillowcases ourselves, and the mattress felt uneven on one side. There was no air‑conditioning, just a small fan, so the room got quite hot and we couldn’t open the window without hearing every airplane overhead.
Friendly reception
The receptionist was lovely and tried hard to help. The room was dirty, the shower was broken, and there were earwigs hidden in the towels. The walls were so thin that we could hear every word from next door until 2 am (I was up at 4 am for a flight). The room smelled very musty.
“Near Gatwick, but you get what you pay for.”
The hotel is close to Gatwick and the room is spacious. I chose it because it was near where I’d leave my car at Gatwick. I usually don’t write reviews and most things don’t bother me – it was just a bed for the night – but this isn’t a great hotel. The room was large, yet there was rubbish in the cupboard from a previous guest. Iron stains on the floor and overall, it was just not a good room to stay in. The bathroom floor was dodgy and not safe to stand on. The fire alarm system fault caused it to go off at 1 am, and being evacuated at that hour was unpleasant. The first staff member you spoke to around 7:30 pm had a huge food or drink stain on his shirt when you met him, which didn’t look good for the hotel. I didn’t bother looking around the rest of the hotel, but you really get what you pay for.
