This was our second visit to Hotel Iris, and we loved it even more! We have to highlight how friendly the staff were. I’ve never met hosts who were so accommodating and warm. Any small issue or special request was handled immediately in the most charming way. Staying here is truly a treat. The only downside was that I eventually had to check out.

The location, the kindness, and the food were excellent. The room’s bathroom is small and a bit dated for the price paid, but I paid the premium for booking last minute for the Ferragosto weekend.

The location is absolutely amazing, surrounded by mountains, with pretty grounds and a nice reception area. The staff at the front desk (who also serve at the bar) were lovely. Our two rooms were next to each other at the front of the hotel, each with a balcony. We sat on the balcony many times because the view was stunning. We had booked specifically for a hiking trip to spot bears, but unfortunately didn’t see any. The snack the hotel arranged for the trip was good, the evening meal was also good, and breakfast was adequate. I’d like to try this place in winter; it must be stunning when it snows. The nearby town is fantastic; I really love this area. The only negative is that we chose the hotel partly for its pool, but it wasn’t heated and was freezing, so we couldn’t use it. Because of that, when we return we’ll look for a hotel with a usable pool, unless it’s winter, in which case we’ll book this hotel again. All staff were lovely except the gentleman who serves at the restaurant; he’s a bit off‑putting and not friendly, but that can happen anywhere, unfortunately.

The building is beautiful, the furnishings and bathrooms are very recent, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the rates are competitive. Parking, the pool, and the restaurant are adequate. The only issue is a slightly higher level of attention to cleanliness, otherwise everything is fine.

I stayed at a lovely hotel surrounded by stunning scenery, where everyone was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and generous for the price, and in the evening there was an optional three‑course menu offering two or three choices for each course. From the hotel you can walk straight into nature, and although it sits a little outside the lively town of Pescasseroli, it’s still peaceful. Nearby, the neighbors offer horse‑riding, making it a must‑visit for hikers and horse lovers.
