We eventually slept in the hotel, which was doable, though there was a lot of chatter, but it was manageable. The staff’s attitude made us feel like we were in a chic place, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

The room I booked (203) turned out to be a gem—a full suite with a double bed, a lounge sofa, a salon and dining table, rotating/tilting windows and doors on two of the four walls (so plenty of light), tastefully decorated and with beautiful bathroom fixtures. The only downside was that check‑in, check‑out, and breakfast were not at the same location. The hotel where I stayed had no staff, no bar, or dining area/restaurant. Otherwise it would have been a 10. For motorcyclists: there is a parking spot at the hotel, but it is not covered or locked. But it’s in a three‑street hamlet in the middle of nowhere. 😉

The bathroom was fine and check‑out went quickly. The location was 1 km from the “check‑in hotel”, which was poorly indicated when we booked; eating as a hotel guest meant waiting 2 hours for a reservation. The room smelled very musty; there was a lot of noise, it seemed like a break‑in was happening, and we had trouble with the facilities in the room above us.

The room was really spacious, but there was no mention that the key had to be picked up a kilometer away and that the main branch had a different name.

There was no on‑site reception, so I had to walk down the hill without any signs. Breakfast wasn’t available on site either; I had to go up and down the hill again. Dining downstairs took forever, and the overpriced breakfast turned out to be mediocre. I still slept well, probably because of the walking.
