“熊野観光の拠点に最適!!”
I came by bike and the hotel is right in front of Kumano‑shi Station. It’s a converted old house, so the building itself is aged, but the toilets, showers, and bath rooms were clean and gave a sense of freshness. The first floor is full of nostalgic toys and games, while the second and third floors house the rooms. It’s about a five‑minute walk to Nanri‑gohama, and you can walk to the World Heritage site Lion Rock and the supposedly first shrine in Japan, Hana‑gane Shrine. Reaching Kumano‑Hongu Taisha and Maruyama Senmaida takes about an hour by car or bike, making it a great base for exploring Kumano. The owner was friendly and kind, which made the stay very satisfying. The only downside is that the old‑house setting might be noisy for those sensitive to other guests’ sounds.
