“本当にありがとうございました。”
We stayed here while our child was hospitalized nearby and needed daily visits; every staff member was incredibly kind, and during the few days we were able to enjoy a very comfortable stay. We are grateful.

Even though I arrived late, the staff handled me with care and the water was great.

The hotel is amazing because it offers a large bedroom with plenty of space, which is rare in Japan. Most of the room is dedicated to free drinks, ice, ping‑pong, go, othello board games, and a view of a Japanese garden. Inside the hotel you can always wear a free yukata while enjoying the indoor onsen. The room itself didn’t have a bathroom, but you can shower in the onsen area, which feels even better. The location was far from convenience stores, but that didn’t matter since I kept taking the bus or Uber to see the places around. All other hotels in Beppu also require a bus to reach the 7 hells, so the situation was the same.

The welcome package was great, offering drinks from shochu to shaved ice, and the second floor even had a manga‑lending area. Because it was a weekday, the baths felt almost private, with the open‑air pool a bit hotter than the indoor one but still comfortably warm. Staff responded quickly to any issue, making the night pleasant. Some parts of the facility looked worn – the hallway to the baths had dirty walls, parts of the guest‑corridor floor were coming up, and the tatami in our room showed age. Certain areas were self‑service, so we had to make the futon ourselves, and ordering drinks during dinner required scanning a QR code and using a separate ordering site, which might not suit everyone.

I didn’t like that, even though I booked late, they didn’t let me dine.
