The room was well‑situated in the old town centre, clean and comfortable. I had trouble communicating with the host; I had told her a few hours before arrival to drop off my luggage (she had promised it would be possible when I contacted her that summer to give the arrival time), and she replied that check‑in would only start at 14:30. After a tedious back‑and‑forth, she said she was stuck in traffic, but she actually sent me the key‑box code much later and we never saw her. Nothing prevented us from arriving at 14:00, the check‑in time listed on Booking. Unlike my other homestays in Croatia, this felt more like a business and lacked the human touch we look for in this type of accommodation. It’s a shame.
