Windermere Bed and Breakfast

This has nothing to do with the accomodation it’s an overall experience. This was a tour that I was looking forward to attending. (Beatrix Potter) I got up at 4am to catch the train and be on time for my experience and check into accommodation only to find out that the train ride to and from Windermere was going to cost 450 euro. That is $900 Australian dollars. It did not even cost that much travelling from Paris to London. I could not justify spending $900 for a train ride for 1 night stay in windermere. Travel agent did not warn me of the cost saying I can purchase fare on the day. So I had to forfeit Beatrix Potter experience and accommodation. Very disappointing if I had of known the cost of the train fares I would never have wasted my money on the tour or accommodation

“Worth considering for the location”

The location is very good and the small carpark is useful. The B&B is clean, some decor is dated, but overall pleasant enough. Breakfast is very good and offers great value for the location. Some room features need updating: the shower never provided hot water even after 15 minutes of running. Rooms are clean and tidy but would benefit from refreshed decor and furniture.

Nice central location in the little town. There was little choice and no fruit at breakfast.

“Great location, host and breakfast”

Location was awesome. Parking was available and easy. Maree the host was helpful and cooked a good breakfast. The water pressure in the shower was low; I understand it must be hard in these old buildings, but better pressure would have been amazing.

The spot is unbeatable—just a short walk from the transport hub, and everything is within 100 yards, perfect for someone like me who relies on public transport and has mobility issues.
