“satisfactory for me but may be below that for many travelers”
There’s no breakfast here, but the location fits my needs. It could be a bit cleaner.

Not far from the Appalachian Trail, but almost everything is broken—toilet, lamps, shower—worst place ever.

The ice machine worked fine and the restaurant across the street was good, but my room needed repairs: wallpaper was falling and they just taped it back, light leaked under the door, and the bedspread had a burn mark.

I hiked the Appalachian Trail and don't usually care about hotels, yet this was the worst I've ever stayed in—rude staff, filthy rooms, the fridge never cleared after the last hundred guests, cigarette burns on the bed, cardboard on the windows, and I had no choice but to stay. Just don't.
