“Beautiful resort with excellent staff”

We had the most wonderful stay at the Arasi Resort!! The resort manager, Ian, visited us personally each day to ensure all of our activities (kite surfing, trips to town) ran smoothly. He is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the local culture from our conversations with him. Because this is a smaller, boutique‑style hotel, they can really accommodate any request—nothing seemed too big or too small for the resort team. From an amazing boat trip into Wilpattu, to taking us to three different banks and calling in the bank manager for help when we had an issue with our ATM card, the staff at Arasi truly understand hospitality! Some top highlights for us were the fresh, locally caught seafood dinners each night (some of the best food I have eaten anywhere!) and the beautiful views of the lagoon right outside our bungalow. I highly recommend this resort!!! Nothing could have been done to improve our experience! Maybe a better road to reach the resort but they are working on that, and we didn’t want to leave the property anyway!

“Geweldig verblijf, zeer vriendelijk personeel!”

A stunning spot right in nature by the water, with instant access to wingfoiling and kitesurfing. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make everything enjoyable, even arranging fireworks and a beach dinner for the birthday. The rooms were lovely and featured a private outdoor shower.

The team was simply magical—Chamika, Aswath, and Ian ran the resort and made me feel absolutely fantastic. They helped me plan the rest of my itinerary and even arranged a driver for me; Ian was charming during the transfer to my next destination. Every breakfast was better than any I’d had on any other trip. I have no complaints at all.

We would have enjoyed it more if we hadn’t been forced to extend our holiday because of a cancelled flight to Dubai; the location is perfect, the garden is very well kept, and the helpful manager quickly arranged a taxi to the airport after several setbacks (none of which were his fault, but rather a booking company that was late). The staff were friendly, but be aware that the garden rooms are very dark, though we didn’t spend much time inside them.

“The manager scammed us!!”

The place looked almost new, the rooms and the view were good, and the service staff were pretty good. The manager scammed us badly! He asked us to cancel the booking for a technicality, promised a good deal, then swindled us—charging almost double for everything. He billed 1800 rupees for a plate of pineapple that had only 8 pieces, and charged the price of a 1‑liter ice‑cream tub for a single scoop of ice cream. When we asked about it, he started arguing with us and played an emotional game, claiming he’d reduce it from staff salaries. This is definitely not how a resort should be run; he will ruin it if he keeps going like this. The owners should be made aware.
