We loved our time at The Nook – a real sanctuary, with a super friendly manager who shared loads of great nearby spots. Highly recommend!

The décor felt premium, with a boutique‑hotel vibe worthy of a design magazine, and the rooms were spotless and full of detail. The food was excellent, service was good, and the room was lovely, creating a zen and healthy atmosphere. Service hours were tight: no coffee or tea before 7:30 am on weekdays and even 8 am on Sundays. Without a kettle in the room, that was a bit inconvenient. Dinner after 8 pm was a challenge for the staff. If you go to bed early, you wake early too. There was no provision for smokers – they’re banned near the parking lot – and it would have been nice to have a small, friendly smoking area that didn’t disturb anyone. Breakfast wasn’t included, which is very rare in Sri Lanka. The ocean could be heard but not seen; you have to walk 100 m to a small fishermen’s beach where you can grab coffee in the morning or a lassi in the late afternoon at a simple beachfront café. The staff were lovely and the spot was great for watching boats come and go.
