It was very quiet. The bed was too hard, the room was tiny and only provided one towel for two people, and the shower plug hole was blocked when the plug bit came out, with clumps of hair clogging it.

The location was good, the staff were friendly and the place was clean. The only complaint was the extra charge for parking and the overall expenses for what it was.

They were wonderful and warm on the phone, very understanding and accommodating, making my stay easier. The lock box for the key was too high.

Diamonds Villa was an excellent base for our visit to York, just a 15‑20 minute walk into the city. The room was a good size, clean, and when we returned the next day the bedding had been changed and fresh towels were out. There was plenty of tea and coffee in the room. The toilet and shower were just on the landing and were of a reasonable standard. The major drawback was car parking: the whole area is permit parking and there were only four spaces at the Villa, costing an extra £10 per night. We didn’t have a problem, but if all the spaces were taken I wouldn’t know where to park; we found a long‑stay car park about half a mile nearer the city.

The location was good. The free WiFi was the only negative.
