“Only adequate”
The central town location was handy, yet the bed was uncomfortable, towels were scuffed, the bath mat was dirty, dinner tasted mediocre and a bit pricey, and breakfast options were very limited.

The hotel was relaxed and friendly, right in the middle of Castlederg. It has plenty of rooms for party bookings and other events. Residents dine in the beautifully decorated dining room. The owner, Mrs Wall, regularly talks to guests. My double room was very roomy and comfortable, with a large ensuite. The food was excellent with large portions, and when it was chilly there was a fire in the public bar. A few minor things I should have mentioned to the owner: the shower didn’t get warm, the bathroom mirror light in Room 3 was broken, the toilet wasn’t secured to the wall properly and moved when I sat on it, and the pillows were a bit rigid.

I was welcomed with genuine warmth and the staff’s friendliness made the breakfast experience completely stress‑free, with no rush and repeated offers like “what else would you like?” and “take your time.” Late arrivals were handled without fuss after a quick call. Plenty of off‑road parking and a quiet walking path beside the Derg River are great, and the location is close to Donegal and NW Ulster. Nothing to complain about.

The hotel sits in a central spot, which is its main plus. No other issues.
