“A beautiful hotel set in lovely countryside. Very impressive .”

The hotel is lovely and peaceful, tucked into beautiful countryside, and I enjoyed watching little black squirrels play. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, getting to the hotel from the train station required a taxi, which was pricey for the 5‑minute ride, and I felt that £35 per day to use the spa was excessive when I only wanted to swim for half an hour. The staff were helpful and the issue got resolved.

There’s a nice large hot tub at the end of the pool and the food is lovely. The large sauna and steam room are not accessible for everyone, it’s not couple‑friendly, and I don’t understand why each changing room has separate things.

“Lovely but to hot needs air con”

The staff are wonderful, but the rooms need fresh paint and a deep clean. The place really needs a clean.

The countryside location and building are great, but none of the rooms have air conditioning. It was a very hot day, and for a luxury retreat this was far from acceptable. I was given two small fans and told to open my window (and close it to keep bugs out). The vent below my window was a hot air exhaust from the restaurant below, making the night miserable. The lack of air conditioning isn’t advertised on their website; they use phrases like “air conditioned facilities” to hide the fact that rooms boil in summer.

“Not worth the money”

The pool and spa facilities were very good indeed. The grounds are stunning. 1- the room and parts of the building are extremely dated. Curtains hanging off, shower head busted and sprays in every direction but down, stains on carpets, old worn furniture. Not what you expect for the price at all. 2- staff. Some if not most of the staff are absolutely phenomenal, however some staff are about as helpful as a poke in the eye. 3- what do you pay for and what dont you?! I booked a stay with breakfast included and still ended up having to pay £15 for 2 eggs and avo on toast and a basic as chuff machine cappuccino. WELL HAPPY
