“Hotel de carretera con precio de hotel de lujo.”
I had no positives. The hotel was a roadside motel priced like a luxury hotel. The town was tiny and uninteresting. The overall impression was that the hotel was poorly cleaned and the decor was very old‑fashioned. At 8 am the club across the street started blasting music, and the highway traffic was literally 10 m from our room, making it impossible to rest. Our stay happened because of a previous booking issue in Carmel. The hotel asked for extra information that Booking was supposed to provide, but that info never reached the hotel. Booking sent us a notice, but we were traveling without coverage and missed it. Eventually the hotel cancelled our reservation, leaving us without accommodation at 22:00 while traveling with two kids. The lack of coordination from both Booking and the hotel was unacceptable. Normally, if a guest doesn’t show up, they’re charged one night; in this case a confirmed reservation was cancelled and we were left stranded. We had to book this hotel at the last minute because it was one of the few places that could accommodate four people. We paid a price equivalent to a luxury hotel, yet the quality of the lodging was far below that cost. It was a very disappointing experience, not only because of the hotel but also because of the whole situation’s management.
