Aloha Mabul Scuba Lodge

This place was a total disaster. The moment we walked in, it was clear that the hotel was in a state of disrepair - everything was old and rusty, and it felt like it had been neglected for years. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night because the battery had died, and to make matters worse, the toilet was broken. We were vegetarians, but the only option they had for us was cold scrambled eggs. The staff barely spoke any English, which made communication a nightmare.

“View of the room is nice but foods are really bad”

The staff here are genuinely friendly, especially Helen who went out of her way to help us. The room had a stunning sea view, and we loved watching the turtles swim by from our balcony. However, the food was a major letdown - it was overpriced and of poor quality, which was really disappointing considering the high room rate.

“Eine extrem schöne Unterkunft an einem extrem schönen Ort!”

The location was absolutely fantastic, with snorkeling right on the doorstep and an amazing array of marine life to see, including giant turtles. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making our stay all the more enjoyable.

The room was great for the standard of the place, with air conditioning and comfy beds. However, the only downside was that they didn't change or clean the room at all during our stay.

“Great place and great people”

After researching all the options on Mabul, I was thrilled to find Aloha - it's the perfect mid-range choice. The rooms are simple but spotless, with everything you need, including aircon and comfy beds. The location is unbeatable, right over the water, and I could watch the turtles from my balcony. The staff, particularly Helen and Phin, were incredibly helpful and organized, arranging our dives and even cooking up fresh seafood for us. I'd highly recommend Aloha and can't wait to go back.
