“A dissatisfied customer.”
The spot was great, but the hotel fell short on communication. I never got a text about our stay a few days ahead, so I rang them the morning we left. The front‑desk lady struggled to locate our booking, then said she was looking in the wrong file and that everything was fine. I mentioned we’d be arriving later than usual and she assured me it was no problem. On the way, after driving 4½ hours, about an hour and a half from the hotel, a local called to confirm we were still coming; I replied “yes, we’re 1½ out, sorry it’s so late,” and he said ok. When we got there, a man outside asked for our names and told us the room had been cancelled. He called the manager, who said we had no credit card on file, something no one had mentioned earlier. He said we’d have to wait to see if anyone else didn’t show up and we could take their room. I explained I’d booked for July 22, had the confirmation email, and had spoken to two people earlier—one who had just called me (both denied it and gave me the hotel number) and no one had mentioned any issue with a card. He then said he’d just cancel someone else’s room and give it to us. My daughter and I headed to the second‑floor room on the other side of the building; as we walked down the hall, the two front‑desk men we’d seen earlier were walking toward us from the opposite direction, turned, and headed back. It felt like a coincidence but left us uneasy. I’m grateful my husband was with me, but I don’t think I’ll ever book or stay at AmeriVue Inn & Suits again because of the miscommunication, poor management, and concerns about cleanliness and safety.
