“Fair for the price.”
The place is well situated, but the property feels run down. The bed sheets in my room were old and unclean. Breakfast offered only two slices of toast, a slice of watermelon, and a slice of pawpaw; I expected something more like cereal or eggs.
“Needs improvement”
I’ve stayed here many times, and almost every check‑in I run into a problem with the room. In my recent stay in Room 603, a wooden louvre was missing and the air conditioning didn’t work. Previously in Room 104 the main door handle was defective, and before that in Room 404 the lights were out. I’ve also seen uneven service: at breakfast I was the only guest not given jam until I asked, and it was only after I raised the issue that the staff either moved me to a fully functional room or supplied the missing items. This pattern has made me wonder if my iTaukei identity is somehow influencing the treatment I receive, but I’m hoping management will take this seriously and ensure all rooms are inspected properly and every guest gets the same standard of accommodation and service before my next visit. Despite these recurring problems, I keep returning because I’m from Lau and want to support local businesses.
“Budget friendly for single travelers wanting to explore Suva”
Convenient and open 24/7.
It’s close to everything, but the rooms need an upgrade.
“It was pleasant.”
Breakfast is basic, offering only fruit; there are other options, but they cost extra. If you’re on a budget, this works, but if you don’t want to pay a lot just to sleep, it’s also suitable. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner for an additional fee, which is good for a wide range of guests. If you’re after 3‑, 4‑, or 5‑star quality, this isn’t it, and if you’re picky, it’s not for you either. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The louvered windows let in traffic noise because the hotel sits between two roads, so a sound‑proof sliding door might help. The shower could use a fresh makeover for a more modern look.
