“This is our 3rd stay at this park and the Vintage Caravan is our favourite”

The vintage caravan was a dream – sleek, well‑ventilated with a reverse‑cycle air‑con that kept condensation at bay, and the bed was surprisingly plush. The linens felt high‑quality, and the little touches like bedside lights, shelves, and plenty of power outlets made staying in it a breeze. Food trucks on the second night saved us from heading out after a long day. We’ve been back a few times now, and this is the best so far.

The showers and van were spotless, and the spot under an old oak near the botanic gardens was lovely. Everyone was friendly and the communication from booking to check‑out was top‑notch. I would have liked a microwave, though, and the walk to the bathrooms was a bit of a trek.

This was our second stay in the vintage caravan at BIG4 Castlemaine and we’re already planning the next one. The place feels more like a boutique retreat than a campsite, thanks to the warm staff and especially Narelle. The caravan itself is beautifully restored, cozy, and fully equipped with extra blankets, tea, coffee, a wardrobe, and a lovely deck. It’s a bit away from the other sites, giving a sense of privacy while still being fully powered.
