It’s the closest thing to a desert camp without having to travel far. The location is amazing and the owner is very pleasant. It’s a bit pricey for the rustic setup, and the toilet and shower are separated only by a curtain. The water supply had some issues, though that wasn’t the site’s fault.

The house at La Maison du Sable was a simple yet charming place, with the entrance literally stepping into desert sand, and it felt magical to start the day with a camel tour of the dunes at sunset. Later that evening, after sharing a tomato‑sauce pasta cooked in the shared kitchen, we climbed onto the roof to watch the stars—what a sight! Mohamed is a fantastic host who truly makes you feel at home, and he’s a great resource for arranging any desert adventure. Trust me on that. However, our visit fell on an especially hot day, and the electricity and water were cut off for reasons beyond the property’s control, which made the stay less enjoyable than expected, and the Wi‑Fi was also down. I’d recommend checking with the property before arrival if you’re visiting in summer. The rooms are very simple and clean, though a few maintenance touches in the bathrooms would be welcome.

The last house on the edge of the desert was very quiet, easy to reach by taxi, and renting a car was handy. It’s more of a homestay than a hotel, and the owner is very friendly and helpful. We were able to book a two‑hour camel trip and a jeep desert tour on short notice, both starting right from the hotel.

The accommodation is exceptional, located at the desert’s doorstep. The host is very attentive to our well‑being and is extremely helpful in arranging activities or other needs. We had a wonderful stay.

The owner, Mohammed, is a wonderful host—informative and helpful. It would be great if he could offer dinner, because you have to drive on a dark, narrow road to eat.
