The view was gorgeous and the place was super quiet—plus hot water, which is a relief. But the location was a bit of a mystery; the entrance to the property isn’t clearly marked, and when we got there around 3 pm the staff weren’t even ready to welcome us.

Don Ricardo was attentive and helpful, and the natural surroundings made for a very peaceful stay. The only hiccup was the wire fence at the entrance—it could use a bit of polish.

The room was clean and organized when we arrived, the bed was comfortable, and the hot shower and beautiful view were definite pluses. On the downside, drafts seep in through the roof at times, so a false ceiling would help keep the heat in. The closet is a bit cramped, and the room could use a TV and nightstands. Since there’s no on‑site restaurant, having a kettle and coffee supplies in the room would make late‑night mornings a lot easier.
