Sai Daeng Resort

There are two beach sides perfect for snorkeling; the water is crystal clear and warm with plenty of marine life visible from the shore. The staff spoke English fluently and were very helpful. The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast offered a good spread. A free shuttle to the town area was available. However, the resort sits in a hilly area, so moving between parts of the property required walking uphill and down steep stairs. The shuttle to town ran on a limited schedule, and we ended up paying 500 baht for a one‑way taxi to return.

“I felt like crying when I had to leave. I would stay here for months if I could”

The natural surroundings are breathtaking, and the staff and management are doing an amazing job. I have no complaints, but it would be great if the resort offered English courses to the staff, such as house cleaners, so they could communicate better with guests and improve their skills and future prospects.

Only the surroundings. Beautiful surroundings, but no care when it mattered Sai Daeng is a beautiful resort, but our experience with the staff left us deeply disappointed. During our stay, my partner and I were violently assaulted in town. We returned to the hotel injured, crying and terrified. Despite seeing our condition, the staff offered no help, such as contacting the police or helping us see a doctor. Their only suggestion was to avoid town and stay at the resort for meals. This felt dismissive given the seriousness of what had happened. We left two nights early because we no longer felt safe remaining on the island. The resort refused to refund the unused nights. We expected basic compassion and practical assistance in an exceptional situation. The lack of both is why I would not recommend this hotel, despite its beautiful setting
