Breakfast was standard buffet, the location is pretty but not striking. I felt the hotel lacked soul, no clear idea of what it really wants to be or offer.

The spot itself and the friendliness of the staff were fine. It isn’t as luxurious as promised; many parts of the complex are under constant renovation, so there’s always construction. The staff seem a bit disorganized, and the value for money doesn’t match the price.

The location was good and the staff tried to help. The price of nearly $A1,000 per person per night for a floating hotel on a lake beside the Negro River is comparable to a luxury cruise, yet no alcoholic drinks are included and the food is mediocre in choice, quality, and taste. The rooms need work: we were shown a newly renovated room that initially had no tea/coffee facilities (they were added later), the bedding (read sheets) was average with low thread count, bottled sparkling water was charged, the staff needed training, and English was limited. Food quality and selection were average for the room rate. There was no toast-making facility—only a sandwich press, no black tea bags (they had to be fetched from Manaus), and aluminum cutlery was used for breakfast and lunch. The hotel is undergoing renovation that may never finish, and the workmanship lacks quality control and overall attention to what a luxury stay requires.

The location is unique. The food is a bit monotonous.

The connection with nature, the quietness, the food, and especially the warm, educated, and friendly staff are highlights. The mattress and pillows could be firmer.
