“A place to go if your Great Great Granfather was there in the 1850s or thereabouts!”

I was back for a second visit and got to do more sightseeing than before; the bar food was good with generous portions of meat and fish, and the reception staff were helpful and happy to see us again after our mountain walks. The place gets busy with day trippers when a cruise ship arrives in Walvis Bay, but the kitchen is well prepared for the crowds with pre‑booked lunches, so ordering shouldn’t be an issue. The pool was a bit cloudy, probably because it’s off‑season, so I didn’t bother using it.

“Es ist wortwörtlich eine Oase”

We stayed in a bungalow, which was very special, and the car could park right in front of the house with a braai spot available; self‑catering was easy, and there was also a restaurant. However, we understood that a minimum number of people is required for a restaurant reservation, which could be a problem for those who don’t self‑cook. The kitchen was well equipped, but obvious items like glasses were missing.

“Nice but not in hot March”

The location was great with nice green surroundings, but the pool only offered seating options that were uncomfortable, and there were no places to lie down and relax. The apartment we had was cute but stayed extremely hot even at night despite opening all windows; the fan didn’t help at all. It was almost unbearable inside, and it might have helped to air out the apartment the day before to reduce the heat in the stone walls and interior, as even the bed felt incredibly hot.

“Amazing! Thank you and i will certainly be back very soon,”

The location is perfect, the staff are friendly and pleasant to chat with, and the owners are excellent company. However, there should be either air conditioners in the rooms or at least more than one fan, because the flying insects at night are very troubling to work around.
