The Indra Regent Hotel is situated in the heart of Bangkok, adjacent to the bustling Pratunam market. This central location offers easy access to Ratchaprarop Airport Rail Link (10-minute walk) and Suvarnabhumi Airport (35 km). The hotel is within walking distance to Central World (500 meters) and MBK Shopping Centre (3 km), and 6 km from Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre.

The room was fine, but the breakfast could use a menu overhaul. When it says “Halal-friendly,” it actually excludes pork sausages, ham, and other non‑Muslim items, which hurts the taste for everyone else. Overall, the breakfast wasn’t very Muslim‑friendly.

This place is always my top pick in Bangkok, but everything else felt off.

We married here in 1998, so it always had a special place for us. We returned recently and found the hotel much older, though still well‑situated just a 10‑minute walk from an airport rail link station, with a night market and a few good shopping spots nearby. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean, making it a decent value for Bangkok. However, the reception was a disaster: staff seem poorly trained, with weak language skills and a lack of helpfulness. We arrived before the usual check‑in time and were offered an early check‑in for a fee, but the credit‑card machine kept failing, forcing us to try different cards until it finally worked after a reset. I suspect cash might have been the intended payment method. The hotel’s entrance feels bleak and not as lively as I remembered, and a cash deposit is now required, indicating a drop in standards for a former 4‑star property. We dined at the hotel’s restaurant after a long day, only to find it closed at 20:45, despite the information claiming it stayed open until 22:00, so we had to wander the area for a meal. I’ll be back in Bangkok soon, but I won’t return to the Indra Regent; it’s a pity given the fond memories.

The location is great, close to the city center and shopping streets. The property feels dated, and while the price is good, you could get upgraded accommodations for the same amount. The rooms are large, but the layout could use a modern touch.
