The food was good, but the staff were only okay and the shift felt understaffed, making it hard to get attention; no one seemed to be running the shift. The bedroom was cold and uncomfortable.

The hotel has a great bar with an enormous selection of Scottish whiskies, which impressed us a lot. The kitchen is very good and the outdoor area invites you to linger. The cottages are well equipped and lack nothing. The dinner prices are quite high, even though the quality is very good. The place itself is a bit dull, mainly focused on golf. For a golfer the PGA course might be the non-Plusultra, but for a casual traveler it is a bit too quiet.

Wonderful, beautiful accommodation 30 km outside Dunbar. Anyone looking for peace outside Edinburgh yet close to the city will find the right address here. The dinner at the pub was super tasty and the staff very friendly. The rooms are super cozy, clean, and a Nespresso machine is available.
